The Common Application Programming Interface, or CAPI, is an alternative interface to the DISCUS and ADMARC applications. It provides clients (and their clients) with a consistent and easy to use method of accessing the functionality and information contained within these systems without developing specialized interfaces. The interface can send and receive information from a diverse range of products like web pages, voice response units, EDI solutions, etc. CAPI comes in two flavors: a real-time interactive interface and a batch interface for heavy data exchange.
Significantly reduces development time because ADMARC/DISCUS will be performing the majority of the data validation and processing. Clients need only to develop site-specific validation and processing not contained in ADMARC and DISCUS. |
Any Patches and Enhancements to ADMARC and DISCUS will automatically be propagated to the Client product. |
Transactions are performed in a REAL-TIME environment. |
There are no other off-the-shelf products that can communicate with ADMARC and DISCUS. |
Only CAPI is certified to load data into ADMARC and DISCUS with the benefit of full maintenance from NWI. |
CAPI is an enabling technology. It permits other systems to be connected to ADMARC and DISCUS. |
CAPI provides real time or batch interaction with ADMARC and DISCUS. |
CAPI supports all online functionality of ADMARC and DISCUS. |
CAPI has bi-directional communication: It is capable of both sending and receiving information from a web-site or other systems. |
CAPI performs full transaction verification. CAPI routes all transactions through the ADMARC or DISCUS verification logic. |
CAPI permits customized messages. The client can customize the messages that CAPI sends, thus facilitating specialized user interfaces. |
