Dynamic Depot Trucking (DDT) is designed to complement and expand the distribution system available in Discus. Information from Discus tables along with information from the KIT Assembly application is extracted and translated into a comprehensive tool to manage dynamic changes during the print run. The distribution management team can react to the changing conditions during the run by changing the supply quantity or edition loaded to trucks, moving deliveries to a different plant and handling late breaking stories by increasing supply on the remaining trucks and sending additional deliveries to earlier drops.

Functionality

DDT gives distribution managers the ability to meet the needs of distribution in a dynamic environment.

	Each plant in operation during the press run has an individual distribution plan.
	A loading sequence screen contains information about truck arrival and departure times, drops on the route, editions to be loaded, quantities to be loaded and a running press order to fulfill the requirements for the arriving trucks.
	The loading sequence highlights trucks that are over weight or over volume, allowing the user to move supply between trucks to achieve the most cost effective delivery scheme.
	Press difficulties and breaks can be handled by moving the supply requirement for a truck or drop to a different print center.
	Users can track each truck's arrival time, load time and departure time.
